Access to the Chamber

Understand our security screening, accessibility provisions and available facilities.

Accessibility

Access for wheelchair users is provided via the St James' Street entrance and the adjoining walkway. Reserved spaces are available in the well of the Chamber, directly in front of the public gallery. To help make your visit as smooth as possible, wheelchair users are encouraged to inform security or parliamentary staff in advance of their attendance.

For visitors in the public gallery, headphones are available to assist with hearing during States sittings.

Security Screening

All members of the public must pass through security screening at the St James' Street entrance before being granted access to the public gallery during a States sitting. Please ensure you arrive in good time to allow for this process, which helps maintain the safety and security of everyone attending.

Facilities

Guests are welcome to attend a meeting of the States. While devices are allowed, we would kindly ask that they are kept on silent during your time in the gallery so that notifications do not disturb.

Vending machines are available in the Royal Court building for purchasing refreshments. We kindly ask that you consume any food and drink before entering the Chamber.

Toilet facilities including accessible toilets are available in a number of easy to find sign posted locations.
