Resolutions are decisions made by the States of Deliberation after they have debated and voted on the Propositions laid by Committees, Authorities, Boards or individual Members.
The States can make Resolutions which cover a wide range of matters, the most common of which are:
- to agree taxes, fees and charges;
- to agree States expenditure;
- to approve legislation;
- to agree policy directions; and
- to elect and appoint members of Committees, Boards and Authorities.
A Resolution remains outstanding until it is discharged, superseded, rescinded or withdrawn.
