Committee for Employment & Social Security

Constituted as a Principal Committee of the States with effect from 1st May, 2016.

Purpose

To foster a compassionate, cohesive and aspirational society in which responsibility is encouraged and individuals and families are supported through schemes of social protection relating to pensions, other contributory and non-contributory benefits, employment, re-employment and labour market legislation.

Constitution

A President and four members who shall be members of the States: provided that neither the President nor any member of the Committee for Employment & Social Security shall be the President or a member of the Policy & Resources Committee or the President of the Scrutiny Management Committee; and up to two non-voting members appointed by the Committee who shall not be members of the States.
